Major Endorsement: Former Orange County Republican Party Chairman and Assembly Republican Leader Scott Baugh Endorses Gracey Van Der Mark for State Assembly

Huntington Beach, Calif. -- Assembly candidate and Republican Huntington Beach City Councilmember, Gracey Van Der Mark, announced the endorsement of former chair of the Republican Party of Orange County, Scott Baugh. The announcement is a major development in the election for the 72nd Assembly District, currently represented by Assemblymember Diane Dixon. Dixon has announced she is running for the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

 

In addition to being the former Chair of the Republican Party of Orange County, Scott Baugh also served in the Legislature attaining the position of Assembly Republican Leader. To this day, Baugh is still one of the most recognizable Republicans in Southern California and is a resident of the 72nd Assembly District (Huntington Beach). During his time as Republican Party Chair and his campaigns for elected office, Baugh was one of the most prolific fundraisers in the country.

Gracey Van Der Mark’s life story is the definition of the American Dream from being born to immigrant parents, growing up in poverty-stricken areas of Los Angeles, surviving domestic violence to becoming the first ever Latina to serve as the Mayor of Huntington Beach. Since being elected to the Huntington Beach City Council Gracey has championed issues such as fiscal responsibility, improving parental rights and public safety support.
