Gracey Van Der Mark Secures Overwhelming Huntington Beach City Endorsements In Campaign for State Assembly

Huntington Beach, Calif - - Republican Gracey Van Der Mark is quickly securing major endorsements in her campaign for State Assembly. The latest endorsements include the unanimous support of the Huntington Beach City Council, where Gracey currently serves and previously served as the city’s first-ever Latina Mayor. In addition to the Council endorsements, Gracey announced the endorsements of the City Attorney and City Clerk.
These endorsements are notable because with more than 120,000 voters the City of Huntington Beach is by far the largest city in the 72nd Assembly District.

The heavily Republican 72nd Assembly District is entirely nested within the County of Orange with a Republican voter registration advantage of 7.6%. Huntington Beach is by far the largest city in the 72nd District - with more than 120,000 voters - double the number of voters than the next major city in the District. Huntington Beach is one of the few cities in California where the homeless population has declined. The city’s turnaround has earned it the annual recognition as one of the best-run cities in California by the popular website Wallet Hub.
Gracey Van Der Mark’s life story exemplifies the American Dream. Born to immigrant parents and raised in poverty-stricken areas of Los Angeles, she overcame domestic violence to become the first Latina to serve as Mayor of Huntington Beach.
