Orange County, Calif. -- Today, Republican Gracey Van Der Mark announced that she has received the endorsement of Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes in her campaign for State Assembly.

"Gracey Van Der Mark is the right choice for State Assembly. She has consistently supported accountability for those who break the law, while also ensuring law enforcement has the resources needed to do our job. Gracey will be a strong voice for the common-sense policies needed to keep our community safe. Please vote for Gracey Van Der Mark for State Assembly," said Sheriff Don Barnes.

Sheriff Don Barnes is just the latest major supporter to endorse Gracey’s campaign for State Assembly. Sheriff Barnes joins other local law enforcement groups, such as the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs and the Huntington Beach Police Officers’ Association, in supporting Gracey Van Der Mark for Assembly.

Additionally, Gracey has received strong endorsements from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, the Republican Party of Orange County, the Lincoln Club of Orange County, and the California Republican Party.

Gracey Van Der Mark’s life embodies the American Dream. As the daughter of immigrants raised in a struggling Los Angeles neighborhood, she overcame adversity and emerged as a passionate advocate for her community. A survivor of domestic violence, Gracey rebuilt her life in Huntington Beach, where she and her husband, Pieter Van Der Mark, raised a blended family of seven children and now run a successful property management business.

Gracey is running to represent the 72nd Assembly District, currently held by Assemblywoman Diane Dixon, who is seeking a seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Along with Seal Beach, the 72^nd Assembly District is home to the cities of Aliso Viejo, Huntington Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, and Newport Beach.
